Euro Test User Certificate

The British Psychological Society’s qualifications - Test User: Occupational, Ability and Test User: Occupational, Personality at Level 2 (what, until 5 September 2011 were Level A and Level B Intermediate) have been accredited by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA) as together meeting the requirements set for the award of the Level 2 Euro Test User Certificate.

What are the benefits of the Euro Test User Certificate?

  • We believe that a European Certificate is a worthy addition to your professional qualifications, as it recognises a level of competence defined by the Standing Committee on Tests and Testing of EFPA, which draws its membership from 35 European Countries. At the moment, the UK is the only country to have had its qualification accredited. Others are in the pipeline.

  • We believe that, apart from its intrinsic value as an acknowledgement of competence, multinational test suppliers will be more likely to recognise this as a basis for registration of test users across borders within Europe.

  • We also expect that providers of occupational assessment services and those who seek such services are more likely to acknowledge or require a qualification based on a European standard. It is very difficult for multinational organisations whether clients or providers to know and understand all the varying bases for registration as a test user across Europe.

What does this mean for me?

If you hold both the BPS Test User: Occupational, Ability and Personality Test User qualifications and have a current entry on the Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU), you are now eligible to apply to the Society for a ‘Euro Test User’ Certificate.
This Certificate involves a one-off purchase (£24) and includes the addition of the qualification to your profile on the RQTU and a Certificate with the EFPA accreditation logo on it.
This remains valid for as long as you hold the requisite BPS test user qualifications and maintain an entry on the RQTU.

How and when can I apply for the Euro Test User Certificate?

The Euro Test qualification became available on 1 February 2012. An application form is available below, for you to complete and return with the £24 fee.
Please check your eligiblity by visiting the RQTU to view your entry, before you submit the application form.
If you hold BPS Certificates of Competence and do not hold a current entry on the RQTU, please contact us to reinstate your entry (there is an annual fee of £36 for an RQTU entry)
