Register of Competence in Psychological Testing

The Register of Competence in Psychological Testing is an in-house database held at the office. It allows enquirers to check a person’s competence in testing via telephone, email or letter.

The purpose of the Register of Competence in Psychological Testing is that it indicates the person is actively involved in test use and has agreed to abide by the Society's Code of Good Practice in Psychological Testing.

The Register of Competence is an employer’s reference guide to check on individuals they intend to consult or employ. The Society encourages employers to only use competent test users.

It is important for individual test users to maintain their entry on the Register, as this is the source PTC staff use when dealing with enquirers asking whether someone is registered as a competent test user . (Enquiries are generated by the general public, employers, contractors and other third parties).

There are of course additional benefits for those who hold entry on the Register, which include:

  • Free access to over 100 independently reviewed tests online. (Usually £64 for an annual subscription)
  • Access to the membersarea of the website
  • Selection and Development Review magazine delivered to you quarterly and available online
  • Enhancement of your C.V with an internationally recognised, transferable qualification

The annual subscription to be entered onto the Register is £25
